Feeding the Homeless

Action- going downtown in different areas crowded with homeless people
Service- fed the homeless on Christmas Day
--On Christmas, my family joined my neighbor's church in going downtown to feed the homeless hot stew and providing them with clothes and blankets. Members of the church ministered to the homeless while others, including me, where there for support and any assistance needed.
Blanket Drive

Action- going downtown and personally passing out blanets
Service- donate blankets to the needy
--For my the Humble-Kingwood Chapter of Jack and Jill, an organization that I am apart of, we annually buy new blankets during Christmastime to pass out to the homeless. This brings awareness to me as a person because I realize just how fortunate I am, and that there needs to be more done to assist those in need during hectic conditions like the cold.
Shoes for Kids

Action- Interacting with the kids
Service- Providing a pair of shoes for kids that might not get a pair as often as others.
--This event is special to me because I discovered that I love working with children and making people happy. Attending this event helped me acheive the learning outcome of "Developed New Skills" because I was not much of a people person before this event. It helped me to go out of my comfort zone and make friends with complete strangers, no matter the age.
Pep Rallies
1st semester; 2010
Action- help plan the pep rally
Service- to the whole school to promote school spirit and fun.

Preparation for Cat Camp
August 2010
Action- organizing papers.
Service- volunteering to help get all paperwork in the right place in order for Cat Camp to run smoothly.
